I have a preference for grey scaled art, however I enjoy the outcomes of all art regardless of the medium
Ink / Markers
Ink or Markers for me are a great way to make use of the grey scale. I have done some work with these and while there are the more desired brand like Copic I have found an economic brand sold at my local Michael’s Art Store , Artist’s Loft.
Ink and Markers are not a forgiving medium so be sure before you commit pen to paper.
Pencil / Shading
Pencils in my opinion is the building block to almost all traditional artist: from the layout lines, to the finishing touch and shading (if that is your preferred medium)
I personally don’t have a brand I stick to, I normally just stick with lead 2B for layouts and cross hatching, 4B for variation and 6B if I need to get really dark lines or create a sense of extreme depth.
Water Colour
My review on this medium is coming soon. It is part of my new adventures into water color and liquid medium.
